Dr. Liz Lester OAM
Medimime is delighted to acknowledge and celebrate Life Member, Dr Liz Lester on being awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM). Dr Lester has been recognised for her contribution to Medimime and the wider Geelong community. It was an absolute honour for Medimime to contribute to the nomination of Dr Lester for this pre-eminent award.
Dr Lester’s Medimime journey started in 1994 as she accepted an onstage role in the production of Robinson Crusoe. Dr Lester has continued to grace the Medimime stage throughout the years and delighted audiences, both young and old, as several iconic pantomime characters.
Dr Lester’s significant contribution has extended beyond the stage, shaping the creative process as a director and production team member, serving on the general committee as well as undertaking the roles of President and Vice President.
Over the years, Dr Lester has been key to the enhanced financial success of the company and the entertainment experience our cast and crew deliver to thousands of audience members at our annual pantomime. Dr Lester’s passion and stagecraft helped shape Medimime and encouraged the positive changes to the way we staged our productions. These changes are still in use today, which is a true testament to the positive change and influence Dr Lester has exhibited.
Medimime has donated over $550,000.00 to Barwon Health to help support the vital services they provide our community. Thank you, Dr Lester, for everything that you’ve done to help Medimime achieve so much over the years.
Congratulations Dr Liz Lester!
